He was 86 and never used online banking, and the amount of money being moved should have been blaring alarm bells. My bank contacted me about 5 years ago with suspicious activity, sent me a new card immediately and put a stop to my old card. I think it was for about ÂĢ80 abroad, I was refunded straight away.
