honestly, I have no idea 

They are /were little bags they used to put into the wash in my nans/mums day to make the clothes look whiter ....went along with the copper wash tub , scrubbing board and mangle

I can vaguely remember a dolly tub at my Nan's, but can only remember a washer at ours with a mangle thing on top of it  Then a twin tub

I can vaguely remember a dolly tub at my Nan's, but can only remember a washer at ours with a mangle thing on top of it  Then a twin tub 

Oooo twin tubs were very posh , back in the day I had a baby burco boiler when my kids were babies ....never had a washing machine until they were nearly school age

mine was, I think someone donated it before I got married...I know it was in the house when we came back from  the funnymoon   The automatic was like winning the lottery 

Yes,mI'm sure my twin tub was a secondhand one .....and yes, I felt very posh when I got my automatic  Oh and I never had an ironing board until I married Mr B ....ex thought they were a waste of money ,...I used to iron on the table or the floor

I did the kitchen worktop for years with a folded sheet on to get the creases out...and no steam irons then  How did we manage

That's it ...I had an old blanket , with a sheet on top .....and like you say , no steam iron Honestly , we are spoilt today , but we still moan

yes  the ones today are brilliant, I can't remember any of the boys having nappy rash and my daughter didn't use any cream...just a wipe and nappy back on 

Probably because you can change them more regularly ....I mean a dozen or so terry towels don't go very far, especially in winter ....when you have trouble getting them dry

that's true, but the wee just seems to soak through and the skin bit stays dry
