Only really studied the NE….shipbuilding and glass and coal…..there were never back to back houses though…..streets and streets of little cottages….a lot still in use today although well tarted up now

we had back to back houses down near the docks, all demolished now

Dads lot were all engineers…….but going much further back, smuggler and wrecker🤣
