why did she not get up and raise the furniture we did when we were threatened and luckily it only got the hall carpet and part of the living room carpet that was easily replaced

yes she should have expected the worst
the thing is, we have had so much cut off the flood defense budget, culverts are not being cleared, rivers are not being cleared, silt is gathering and when we have storms the water doesn't have anywhere else to go than it's main flow source which is the river and that in turn bursts it banks...it's not rocket science why the problem is escalating
