my name was called out on a regular basis  but we never were malicious, it was all pranks...like the piano key, the cupboard where the light switches were and stuff

Ditto Dame ...the worst we ever did was sneak out of school at lunch time for fish and chips

At least my senior school was within walking distance of where I lived and we used to dodge round the garages belonging to the housing estate (but that weren't near the houses)

my school was over two miles away, walked in summer and bus in winter

Mine was over 3 miles ago ....bus to school and often walked home in evenings so I could spend the bus fare on sweets

My friend once told us our art class would be held outside by the river because it was a hot day....I was full stretch sunbathing for 30 minutes before old Mr Marriott came dithering over shouting his head off...she got me into so much trouble

We had to have school dinners ...or sadwiches ...either way we weren’t allowed out of school

we had to have special permission......... but considering the many ways though woods into our school no wonder the canteen was empty

Haha! Someone made a 'gap' in our metal fence that surrounded the school so we didn't have to go the long way round. They must've been hellish strong

we didn't have a fence, we had many acres of land and it was next to the old squires manor which was set in wood and the main river running through it....so many ways into school it was and still is easy to sneak in  and out of

I made an apron ....but we had to buy games skirts ....or rather those skirt short things

ours was maroon with knickers to match, we couldn't wear shorts

See, now I'd have liked those colours.   And do you know what colour our cookery aprons were?

green knickers but they did bring  in  a skirt just as I got there but communal showers and ticked off on a register  off after you showered-kids wouldn't do it now
