To be fair, my mam didn't agree with door knocking, and I think I've followed in her footsteps. It's like a form of begging

I never have sweets in because they end up getting chucked if the boys don't come and they have loads anyway

Don't get me wrong, we went around with hollowed out turnips with candles in and  string for handles and had to go in every ten minutes to get the candle relit  but I never went to anyone's door
