Yes ....and me too ....and I’ve been thinking I’d got it for more than 40 years ...and I’m still mostly ok 

 

I was paranoid when my brother was first diagnosed Baz and when I got to 53 I had cold sweats even though I always was forgetful 

I totally understand ....tbh I count everyday I’ve lived ...and remained reasonably compos mentis since I was 57 a bonus .....my mum had it from her late 40s til she passed away at 56 ..

 oh's auntie had early Alzheimer's and died about the same age-terrible sad-they did give it a name

Allan was diagnosed at 55 but had it a couple of year before that, it took them that long to actually diagnose it... obviously me being younger panicked when I hit 53  and it doesn't run in the family, but paranoia told me this was the start

It wasn’t really spoken about when my mum got it in the late 1960s Ros ....there was no treatment ...they just put people in mental hospitals

Ye, it's recognised now and all too often sadly 

Yes ....I’m sure one day they will uncover a reason for it .....so much of it about
