Awww I just posted in the weather thread and used the word hooley too It’s pretty blowy here right now , worse than it’s been all afternoon ....but should be finished by about 11 , apparently

I never know which way to spell it, we spell it both ways up here I use both ways too if I'm honest...whatever it's getting worse now

I'm used to gales here Baz being right on the coast, I know it's bad out there at the moment and the gusts are getting stronger and more constant, but there is nothing around me that can cause any damage  Like I said, the electric is my biggest worry and I hope it lasts until I get to sleep

Try lying in bed with a bloody telephone pole and wires right outside your house and worrying whether it's all gonna come crashing down on you!

It’s bad enough worrying about the trees in the back garden coming down ...

My door knocker is banging every five minutes, that's gonna get on my last nerve if it does that all night

Bloody windy at the mo, but earlier on today it went as black as night twice! and you couldn't see over the river for the fog and dampness......It was like summick out of the 1800's. Jack the Ripper stuff

Yes....it was quite beautiful here this morning ...in a weird , eerie way ....as Moonie photo shows

Yes, I never thought to,take one either ....tbh when the orange sun first appeared I couldn’t quite work out why it was different from normal  It wasn’t until the sky went yellow that I realised it must have been Sahara dust

Not sure I'd be able to get anything like what we had

it was all over Pam, some were really pea soupers...Cumbria had the sunny slot

We had the pea souper and orange sun this morning ...then it all cleared up and was a beautiful sunny afternoon ...but got increasingly wild and windy ....especially this evening
