I worry bad enough about other people now...dealing with death and illness would make me suicidal 

According to my dad , and my daughter , you actually have to have a hard core to do the job . I know after my few months on A&E Reception  that it wasn’t for me ....you need to be able to detach to do a good job

Not to be too flippant, but I would think you learn to deal with it in everyday life as part of your job

I can’t deal with either ....I totally embarrassed my dad once when the school went to a careers exhibition....that he and his colleagues were running....and I ended up fainting ....and it wasn’t even a real wound

See now, I've had to clean and dress mam's leg after her ripping it open on the corner of a plastic pouffe top, and had to clean and dress her toe after she had a toenail taken off.   blood and stuff (as long as it's not too much) doesn't bother me 

The nurse at the hospital told my mam I'd done  good job in doing that too

Nah, I just did what had to be done, cos there was no one else, well mibbee Auntie Pam but mam wouldn't have had her trailing down to our house every day/night
