I have to come up with a scenario of what I would do in a certain situation and how I can work 'at pace'  prioritising things and stuff, meanwhile keeping my cool when dealing with offenders in a 'kind of customer service' role

Like Dame says , you have been doing it long enough....in various guises ....I'm sure you will walk the competencies

My role is actually reception with admin brought in by the back door  Same as they got me where I worked .  Their rules weren't so stringent though

I wouldn't worry, you're doing the job...others applying will have less of a clue than you

Yeah, but it's how I get through the interview, although I've been offered loads of help.

Saying that, new senior admin officer (SAO) was the only one who applied for his job and they gave it to him

I don't know many peeps have complained about him, because he knows nothing about the job and delegates the more 'harder' tasks whereas he will do the more menial/easier stuff. Management are aware of this but one in particular defends him because he has mental health problems and doesn't realise how this impacts on everyone that works with him.

Just because he was the only one that applied doesn't make him the best person for the job.  I don't know how much more clearly I can say it and it's been said to upper management by longer served staff than me...he's rubbish!

How was your brother Dame ?

he was ok Baz thanks, he went to sleep after about 45 minutes...we sat and chatted/laughed with the staff for about another 45 minutes and came away ...Louise's daughter passed her driving test and she dashed out the corridor to meet her coming in ...old lady Anne was toddling up the corridor on her zimmer and Louise ran past her...Anne stepped back and slid down the wall, I shouted and they ran...bless her she was fine, I did laugh afterwards

Isn't it funny the amount of stuff we find EEK at  the time but laughable afterwards
