It is absolutely a shit shot!   Even if I do get a job with NPS, they've imposed sickness sanctions on all of us! I'm caught between a rock and a hard place 

 

I think sickness pay will be docked for everyone pretty soon 

Yeah, and those who are swinging the lead should be hauled up before management, not the valid person to my mind 

 

Management know who are 'playing the game' to my knowledge. At least in here anyway

Yes , but I think there is a minimum under the law 

This is an agency though Baz, the route I didn't wanna go down 

 

They'll get round it any way they can cos the company is paying mega bucks to the agency to keep us employed by the agency

I e worked for agencies ....did so for years ...still got paid holidays though

Just seen this, yes we can have a holiday but if we want it paid the hours comes off our 'built up hours' or we can take it unpaid and keep our hours.....who wins?  I'm guessing the agency

I've told you for months to apply for other jobs 

I know, I'm about to apply for NPS job when it comes out......it'll keep me there until something better happens

I can't explain it properly *cries* Say I have 57 hours of holiday to take. I want a day off that amounts to 7 hours through the week (half an hour less on a Friday). I have to apply for that day if I want it paid which takes that amount of hours off the holiday I've built up, but I can have it unpaid and still keep the hours I have built up

I'm still not getting it...If you take a day off with pay of course you will lose those 8 hours.

I'm just not getting how you take a holiday and not expect to lose those hours...I just don't get it. 

It means getting paid or not though, the jobs I've worked in have always paid me for my holidays and not lost the time, not this one
