and me joined at 5

Ditto Ros My mum used to moan that I always had my head in a book , and didn't want to go out to play

I'm with you two, I joined at a very early age, My mum was an avid reader and to be honest learned us from a very early age to read, I was reading before I ever went to school. She joined me before I went to school and I stayed a member for years, I think it's only over the last 5 years since my mum died I've stopped going.

yes same here -I was a right bookworm as well and still am-not been to the library for about 3years now -prefer my kindle and the odd book

Yes , I used to be taking loads of books out every week, but  I tend to read on iBooks now .....having said that  I really should make an effort to pop into the library every so often ...use it or lose it

I can remember....dad sitting watching the telly on the pouffe and mam sitting behind him on the armchair with her feet up at the back of him on the pouffe her with a book on her knee and both with drinks to the side of them

I could easily read a book a day, even when I first got married. To be honest I found a book more interesting

its kids I fear for, they are lazy critters at the best of times and won't think to go on line and download Treasure Island or any of the other marvelous classics that had me under blankets reading with a torch when I was supposed to be asleep. I'm so pleased Lynds buys the kids books constantly

why did you not finish it?

I did, later on, when I left work   Just so happens I was in the office all by myself that day. The others had gone to a meeting (for one reason or another I had to man the ship)    and so read that book
