me either Baz...mind, there is just something about every part of history that fascinates me... 

I so, so wish I could've gotten in to it more, but for other peeps

I used to read loads at home Pam...school was distracting in most classes unless you had a teacher that was in control, luckily mine was great and held the classes attention 

yes same here -never in a disruptive class - did Tudors for A level

I went back and did it ( Tudors and Stuart's) at night school in my 30s

Looking back, I think my mam and dad were just so pleased that Phil and Malcolm and me could all read and write, regardless of whatever it was

I'm with you two, I joined at a very early age, My mum was an avid reader and to be honest learned us from a very early age to read, I was reading before I ever went to school. She joined me before I went to school and I stayed a member for years, I think it's only over the last 5 years since my mum died I've stopped going.

a lot of hers was American ww2 history which made it more flipping difficult 

 I got into all that...big style ...at uni .....swapped from 19c British history ...to 19c /20c American history and culture 

did American History for A level--quite difficult -British  history much easier

Don't get me wrong....I used to read oodles when I was younger, just mostly novels

I can understand that Baz, I'm more into it now...I suppose at 17 Helen thought OMG I'm gonna so fail this  she didn't, she flew through it with top marks. I reckon it was her my course work

My mum wasn't a big reader....but my dad was big on self education ....so I'm guessing I got it from him ....although can't remember a time when I didn't love  reading

yes same here -I was a right bookworm as well and still am-not been to the library for about 3years now -prefer my kindle and the odd book

dad was the reader-mum didn't really read-like you dad encouraged education and learning and he was in the library
