Yes, even they have more sense

if you are in the queue at closing time you are allowed to vote...some stations have been open until ten
It's wrong though....IMO

Let's just hope we don't have a rerun of the cock ups from the other year !

not it's not...it's the law in the states, nothing illegal about it.

like the year Bush won...that was really dodgy and took days
PLEASE SHARE. If you are in line before a polling station closes, they MUST let you vote, no matter how long the line is. DO NOT leave.

it's not like here.....they queue, not sure if they haven't enough stations. Seriously though, if it's the law there's no problem

It may have a bearing on us though Wozzer
Rocking Ros posted:blimey-you think it was our general election the way the each states flashing lights /political colour code are set up+ pollometers etc etc etc etc
Arguably it has the potential to be more influential than ours

exactly
It's nothing like here and it's law, so I certainly don't have a problem with it...Mainly cos I don't live there
Another thing, some have to travel miles to get to a station which can serve many homesteads and small towns, queues can be massive

But like I said.....they know what time the vote closes.......they should make time to get their butts there

mainly because half the feckers won't get off their ar$e and vote and then bloody well complain ...hence more staff in the stations than voters mind you for a small town we have loads of stations

maybe they have and have queued 5/6 hours...one old woman queued 6 hours to vote for Obama last time ...she was 102 so she's not that lazy, same old woman queued today at 106 to vote for Clinton.
edited, she voted early this time
Having said that, our lot would vote for a snake if it kept the Tories out

a good quote me thinks
hope Trump doesn't win tonight. More generally, despite the inevitable draw of the drama and showbiz razzmatazz, I don't think we should look to the USA Democrat establishment for inspiration for the UK. The USA Presidential election is so fascinating and, sadly, dangerous. But the USA way of 'doing politics' remains so damaged by the role of big money.
