actually it's a lovely train journey, it's mostly along the coast with not many yards to the beach...it's frightening how close the sea is now compared to when I was young

Yes thanks. Saturday I was feeling depressed for no particular reason but bounced back today feeling great. Finally got a passport replacement after either the post office or the Passport Office themselves losing my old passport.

I'm not actually going anywhere. I just needed a new passport, but somehow photos and my old passport became separated from my application form. The passport office informed me about the photos, but gave me the impression that they had the passport. A week later they were asking for the passport! As the envelope was well-sealed, I reckon that the passport and photos were lost at HMPO.
