We used to never eat before about 8 when we were both working ....and in summer , when Mr B worked longer hours , sometimes  it was 10

oh heck, that's very late....even when I worked we always sat down before 7

Well Mr B ( and my ex ) both worked in the building trade , so never got home until dusk ...so in summer it was very late....especially as they usually had to travel miles . I use to feed kids at 5 and then just wait until he got home

The test was ...were the kids still screaming for food when he got home?

No , they were in bed by about 6/7 ......I was a hard mum

I was lucky really, my husband worked 12 hour shifts all our married life, he worked 3 on, four off and luckily sometimes 7 on ...3 days he didn't eat with us and used the works canteen, the other four he would prepare veg and stuff while I was at work  So we always managed to sit down at a decent time, until the girls started working and then it got slightly later

Both of mine were away from about 5/6 in morning and not home until 9/10 at night during summer ....and usually weekends too ....

That's part of what my idea of a marriage is...pitching in together when you can

begrudgingly I will give him that and he would do the housework while I was at work

Yeah, our cleaner at work (Julie) used to run around after her partner like her life depended on it, nd prolly even still does, even though they both worked but she did more work than him. I would've told him to do one

Both of mine helped out when they were around , but one was self employed and the other was a site manager so they had little choice but to work long hours ....building trade is like that
