I wouldn't like to be without it...but if I have the boys or I'm busy I rarely look at my phone. Dolly is addicted...her fb is always open wherever we go...I rarely go on to FB through the day, I glance at it at night and that's about it

but that's more the times we live in I think Baz...I don't feel desperate if I leave my phone at home and don;t feel the need to look at it all day...you go into a cafe, pub or train station and no one looks up

Yes, but think about having none at all .....just being able to phone or text your kids .....etc.

I don't do that -my son is strapped to his -it's evenings -I love my lappy and internet then and weekends for reading my kindle + I use my phone/kindle as an extra alarmclock

I guess it depends on how many contacts you have locally , or whether you drive .....for most of the time im confined to 4 walls .....with no one to really talk to
