I don't know, there's stained pine cladding on there (put up for quickness when we came in and I've just never gotten around to doing something with it). But it's coming through that 

if part of your flat roof is attached to your kitchen, it's probably coming from there and running along a beam to the weakest point... you may have to get your brother to try and repair the flat roof. 

That's what I think too. It's more worrying me that it's close to the cooker plug but not neccessarilly on it

Got to go to town and change Mr B's socks!! He has size 10/11 feet , so I got him size 10/12 socks , cos he normally has 9/11 , but moans they shrink .....but now he wants 12/14 ...which I KNOW will be to big , but hey ho !!

just make sure the switch is off and you seal around it Pam 

Can I do that? 

Well I would defo turn it off at the mains until the leak is fixed Pam ....it's not worth risking it ,
