it resets your line, that's what they did with mine the other week...took about three days for it to be at a constant speed  they always advise you with new routers it will take a few days Baz

Hmmmm, never heard of that before Dameee

Me neither Is it cos it's a hub ????

Could be I guess, dunno tbh

I don't know why exactly, just that it takes a few days to settle down

We need some with "technical know how" to come on and put us out of our misery tell us

Like a builders yard here today Moonie, workmen descended to do the thermal coating on the outside of the house... Electricians first thing doing the outside lights, I wasn't happy

oh and the info you asked about  this applies to most routers as they have to balance the speed the line will take and the router..I tried to explain that sort of last night, although I did not know the exact procedure

To ensure the reliability of your broadband service, we’ll start your Sky Broadband at a speed which gives you a good combination of speed and stability on the first day. We then re-configure and test your line to provide you with the best performance, which may take up to ten days.

During these first ten days you may notice some variations in speed and your connection may be intermittent at times – this is normal. Please keep your router turned on 24/7 – this helps us to get the maximum information about your line's performance, so we can select the best settings for your connection.

Please note if your phone line is very long or has a lot of noise on the line your connection may be set slower than your first day's speed, this is only done where our testing determines that the line cannot maintain a reliable broadband connection at a faster speed.

The bedroom setup is saying no signal although the sky is on...the synopsis and planner are not working  I am going to unplug it later and leave it off, I have tried a system rebuild and that didn't work

I got them back straight away Baz, there was no signal at all. We rebooted it and it came on...but I didn't think to check the planner or synopsis until I switched it on tonight and noticed ..I really hate the company that's doing it too, he's really expensive and charging ÂĢ100 a house for 15 minutes work and can't even be bothered to check to make sure the signal is right
