True,  but it was mainly that I needed to stretch my limbs a bit and get them working!

I think before long I'll need need new joints  I've had arthritis since my early 30's, my knees are about shot  My mother was on 40 when she started, wonder if it's a gene thing

Rheumatoid or osteoarthritis? Both are pretty bad. My dad got the osteoarthritis starting in his 60s and my mum - the rheumatoid version when she hit her 70s.

awful isn't it! My mum was a walker and they said that's what kept it at bay and she never had any joints replaced even though her hips, back and hands were very bad

No Baz, The party was cancelled due to my friend being a bit sick over the Xmas period. I didn't feel that great myself yesterday, so I just stayed in and watched tv.

My mum is refusing to get her hip done despite my dad having had both hips and a knee successfully replaced. My dad reckons that it's because she thinks everything around the house will fall apart while she's convalescing, and I tend to agree with him. She's a workaholic control-freak bless her!

Kimmy, you and your dad  (and others if there are any) need to convince her that you all can manage

oh dear and she would probably be so much better if she had it done... My sis in law had two knees done in her late 40's  since then her ankle and she's two hips to get done yet, but because of my brothers condition she won't put him into care for three months and the doctors are saying she would need that to recover.
