like I said Pam...it's their Christmas day too...when you've cooked for your own and guest all you want to do is chill after. I really don't think they mean anything by it, just she wants to wind down and enjoy Christmas too...it's hard work Christmas day.

Prolly, as I'll prolly be chucked out of my nieces again

I can understand that...when I used to do lunch for 10/12...afterwards I couldn't wait until they all left, I was shattered and just wanted to chill

We're all chilled though and not causing any problems. I don't know if it harks back to when mam was alive, she liked to be back in her own house about 8ish and I'm wondering if they think I'm the same. (Obviously I went at the same time that she did cos that's what was done but........)

Don't get me wrong, I can well understand, but sometimes, just sometimes....

This is gonna sound horrible but, It's not like she does it all   my sis in law cooks the turkey/other meat  and makes the gravy and me and a.n. other do the washing up.

I know this post sounds ungrateful, but please, I don't mean it that way. It's just that I can't find the right words this time

I agree Ros, I loved having my Mam and Dad and all the boyfriends...but after 5/6 hours you really want into your pj's and settle down with the hubby/kids/tv/or a glass or two....it's hard going

I think if you were married and had kids you maybe would understand more. I really think there is nothing vindictive in her wanting a bit of me time on Christmas day with her own  I know I did, and really was wishing them out the door by the time they left, as much as I loved them
