I'm posting now while the electric is on, it keeps going off...I hate winter  If I don't get on later on you know why and our O2 mast is down to top off the last wonderful 24 hours

Latest from our area and we are smack bang on the coast

Winds of over 100mph have blown over trees, closed roads and cut power supplies across Cumbria.

A string of problems are being reported on the roads and railways as the weather takes its toll.

An amber alert - the second most severe warning - has been issued by the Met Office for wind in Cumbria, with speeds of up to 80mph expected.

Winds of 113mph have been recorded at Great Dunn Fell, near Penrith, with gusts of 85mph being reported at St Bees Head in west Cumbria.

In Cumbria there are currently 9,000 homes without power, 7,000 of those in the north of the county. At the storm's peak there were around 14,000 homes in the county faced with power cuts. Electricity North West say that the worst affected areas are Allonby, Penrith, Workington and Kendal.

An ENW spokeswoman said: "The north of the county has been the worst affected, in particular Allonby, Penrith, Kendal and Workington. Engineers are working to get everyone back on as soon as possible

I'm fine thanks, internet is sporadic so if I don't post it is because my signal keeps dipping. Still no O2 signal and the lights have stayed on for a full three hours  How was your day?

Well hopefully the worst is over now Dame
