That's one thing that my parents never did, spoil us 

 I said more spoilt - we certainly were not spoilt - mum and dad were strict - mind you I often think my son is a bit spoilt TBH but he is always thoughtful

it was the other way around in our house, but my mum always wanted a son and then 5 years later I ruined her day

Wasn't so in my case   Mam and dad treated us all as equal   Even though oldest bruv is exactly ten years older
