I sure feel a lot older now for some reason.
I am totally heart-broken
i was weaned on Motown
i was weaned on Motown
You know what has annoyed me about all this is all the 'has he, hasn't he' reports - why can't they just get it right before telling the world!!!
I can't believe it, I was such a huge fan, I was gutted that I couldn't get tickets to his tour but was never expecting this. RIP Michael, you scared to hell out of me in 'Thriller' when I was younger but now it is and will remain my favourite Music Video ever.
It really is a very sad day....
I do agree with you there.quote:Originally posted by Lazybug:

Farah and MJ on the same day .... two iconic figures from my free and careless youth
I was gutted I didn't get tickets too... Kinda relieved in hindsight but gutted he's dead nowquote:Originally posted by Rawky-Roo:

I agree, but unfortunately they get ratings by being first, not by being right. Ah well, a different topic for a different day.
With MJ, Farrah, and Ed all gone that's 3 icons, hoochie. Guess that confirms the old expression that good and bad comes in 3's.
RIP Michael, your music will live on
Unbelievable! When they just broadcast it on the bbc news flash I couldn't believe my ears.
You know, most of these legends (elvis, james dean, hendrix) seem to go earlier in life, but I suppose they can be remembered at their best. Jackson had really done everything and peaked a long time ago. Rather than carrying on at age 50 I think he's now kept his dignity. Christ, his millions of hardcore fans will be crying all week.
RIP

Ed McMahon was Johnny Carson's sidekick on the Tonight Show for years and years and years. Very large cultural icon over here.
Just looked on ebay out of interest and people are buying tickets for his o2 tour.
Someone just put a 390 quid bid in 5 minutes ago. Do you think they haven't heard or do you think they think they are going to be worth something?

Ed McMahon, well known in US as a host on the Johnny Carson show, I saw this on one of my US Forums earlier

I have heard of Johnny Carson but his shows were never shown in the UK. I only knew Carson cos Oprah used to talk about him in her shows.

And the guy who made famous the catchphrase; "Heeeere's Johnny!" Where would The Shining have been without it!
