It looks as if your homepage has been changed. That's the page you first see when you open the browser. I use Google as my home page - http://www.google.co.uk/

These are the Chrome instructions given on their support pages:

You can set your favourite web page as your homepage and allow it to appear whenever you start up your browser. And if you add the homepage button to the browser toolbar, you can click it at any time to get to your homepage.

Follow these steps to adjust your homepage settings:

  1. Click the spanner icon spanner icon on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Options (Preferences on Mac and Linux; Settings on a Chromebook).
  3. Click the Basics tab.
    • Set your homepage
Choose the page that you'd like for your homepage in the "Homepage" section. You can select the New Tab page as your homepage. To use another page, select "Open this page" and enter the web address of the page that you'd like to use.
    • Add the home button to the browser toolbar
Want a button on the browser toolbar that you can click to open your homepage? Select the "Show Home button" checkbox in the "Toolbar" section.
    • Set your homepage as your startup page
To see your homepage whenever you open Google Chrome, go to the "On startup" section and select "Open the home page".

El Loro. Thankyou.  I`ve done all of the above but it won`t change. There`s nowhere at the bottom of the page to click on to make the changes.

Try doing a full re-boot Scotty. Sometimes the page doesn't load 100%, but can look OK. If it's not loaded properly then funny things can happen.

Fluffy how do I do a full re- boot?  ta x

Have you been in your control panel and checked your internet options?

I could do that. What would I do to change it Blizzie?

Edit: Just checked it`s http://www.google.co.uk/

Aww Scotty, nothing complicated, Just close everything (if you can) and switch off the computer. Leave it off for about 2 minutes, then just switch it on again and try opening your browser again.

It`s how I described it at the top of the page Fluffy.

Yes, there was something odd the other day. My homepage was in a foreign language. Slovakian (sp) I think. I thought, what`s going on here?  Then it returned to normal and now this.

There should be a link by the search box that says " go to classic google" , that should do it ..

I tried that Slinki but when I click on the link it`s still going back to the nasty homepage.

I think I`ll have to get someone up to fix it for me. I`m really hopeless at techie things.
