Some of them do and some of them, quite often the same ones, make ridiculously sexist remarks against women. Mostly, it is meant to be that 'banter' thing you're so fond of! There are usually one or two of them who will pull the guilty parties up on it, though, so you get a mixture of opinions.
You must pop into the Holgate End sometime and explain your views to the various ladies of all classes and all ages.

Issy, if you came and watched a few Ladies games you might feel differently. I love watching Arsenal Ladies or England Ladies, really you don't notice the gender as such, just support the team and the players as footballers rather than women.

Come now Aimee let's not get carried away here. Nobody's challenging women's right to play football some people just think they look odd playing it. I do. I don't think they look butch they just look awkward. Is the world so PC now that we can't say even that without being accused of being sexist?

Hi AimeeIf you read my post again you will see that I said I do think women do look daft playing football but I would defend to the death their right to play it.
I also said I could not give any rational reason why and I certainly do not think they look butch etc.
I read your post twice tbh Issy and still didn't get where you was coming from, how can you find them awkard and not know why? my washing line is half full of football kit, basket ball kit and girly dresses, my daughter's girlie but like's sport and keeping fit and she's done the reffing course eek she must be butch, i'll wait till she wakes up too tell her

Why don't you scroll back to the clip that Gray and Keys were laughing at earlier. It was wrong of them to do so but I can see why and so can any football fan. It was a women's football final and the first goal came about by a shot that was so bad nobody expected it to take the path it took and it went into the goal. It was laughable. Most of the goals came about from hilarious mishaps there was no skill involved in any of the goals.It's not a woman's game, there I said it. Play it for fun but you're not going to see female players in the England national team any time soon (i.e. never).

I do not think it is a butch thing Aimee. To be fair I think it is because I watched Bend it Like Beckham and perhaps I am judging it on that.... The running looked awkward, it didn't flow... it just looked all wrong.. See it is not a good reason
