Nor me soops.  And coming on the back of the horrendous manslaughter charges of 6 children by their two parents case going on atm there is nothing too much we can do to change that type of abuse.

edit to explain. What I mean is we can never do too much to prevent this type of crime.

You're not wrong per se, Supes.

Domestic stuff isn't always 'evident' like poor Tina's injuries.  Talking about having punch up's, barneys, spats - copping a clout etc., sort of do become something we all hear about but don't necessarily witness 1st hand.

I suppose it's because the snidey shitehawk's who inflict it are usually gutless enough to hide the evidence of their physical brutality.

There's nothing like a bit of humilation and the feeling of lost dignity to make a woman hide the evidence either.  Sounds mad, but it's true.

Too right Cos. I personally know two women who were emotionally and, subsequently, physically abused. Thankfully they both removed themselves from the danger but the effects on the children they took with them is painful to see.

Unfortunately, think we'll still be watching the same heartbreaking stories for the rest of our lifetime at least, fact is though we may be able to change just one life with less than I spent in Sainsburys tonight for the weekends shopping

Yes probably, it's hard to understand that with all the money raised on various shows like tonight, and the money raised by charity org's either by donation or through all the different adverts we see every day there's never enough money to solve the problems and yet we're told how cheap it is to provide what's needed.

Economics and international politics have never been my strong suit Yellow, but I do know that you can't eat an elephant in one bite, or take on corrupt regimes with charitable donations. No doubt there are others who will have more strategic solutions, but, for simple souls like me, we have to try and do our bit and get the resources where they're needed and direct to the people, (so,closer to home, don't give a damn penny of your hard earned cash to the bloody NSPCC!)

Xochi, am not ignoring your post.  Understand exactly what you are saying; the hardest part is always getting the kids to an emotionally comfortable state.  Not easy to lead by example when you're feeling completely and utterly broken yourself.

Yep, he is a league better than all the others Cos. And forget the other stuff. Another discussion for another time.

Shock, horror, someones opinion was changed rather than entrenched from listening to people on a social networking platform.....get that on the front page

Was good (and funny!), huh?

He just makes me laugh out loud - loving his banter with these Essex university ones.     I thought this was supposed to finish at 1.30?   I'm not complaining, but I AM sleepy...

No, not really   But he's funnier than anyone else and I like his grubby halo attitude.

I love that description - I'm gonna nick it.

That was kinda what i was trying to say, the only time, (for some,) that they take notice, have any sympathy and stop blaming the victim is when they can 'see' something like Tina's loss of sight or that someone has died. What about all of those who have just died inside?

LOL, the only people I fleetingly fancied tonight were Dawn French and Alan Carr!

OK - now i don't feel so bad at the faint stirrings I had for Bill Nighy

My bubs did a sponsored silence at school today, bless her.

You have no idea how hard that will have been for her

LOL - well done, Bubs!   We were visited by an office services company who share our building today - all dressed in jim jams, make up and wigs.   The best bit was the young lad who works in reception and is the shyest receptionist going.... I've hardly heard him say a word but he was there in red jammies and big comedy baffies.   I feel the three older women he works with may have bullied him a bit

I reckon its that they actually focussed on making comedy and not promoting bands albums as they used to do. But the GBP are doing it, despite our hard times.

How could you ever doubt yourself about Nighy love!  I blame his sexy voice mostly.

Thankfully Cosi, that is something that, in my experience, has changed q significantly of late, not enough, but moving in the right direction: the point when the message finally starts to got across that children are being abused by witnessing domestic abuse and that isn't the victim's fault that they can't protect them, when they're being abused themselves.
