It's funny how we try all this fancy food but still go back to the old faves eh?

My mum was a whizz at making great meals out of cheap ingredients. A lot of people could do with lessons in how to do that nowadays Thumbs Up

Yeah my mum was the same. She also always used to make everything too and never had to weight any of the ingredients. She just knew by looking at it, how much she needed.

Never buy baking potatoes from Asda....they are shite. Buy them from Tesco, Morrison, Sainsburys or Marks.

All I do is wash it....dry it and stick on a shelf in the oven. A medium sized takes about 1hr 15 mins on electric 180. Any smaller about an hour....any bigger about 1hr 30-45mins.

Prod it with a fork...and you can tell when it's cooked. It'll feel fluffy inside.Smiler

tall upright freezer with 6 drawers...and they are all full! Disappointed

I have a 6 drawer one too. I have my own drawer full of my frozen party food and nibbles. NOBODY is allowed near it Big Grin

I find things in mine like 3 half full bags of scampi Confused

Where do I start with mine...half bag of oven chips, quarter bag of breaded scampis ( I remember eating those....a bag was too much but half was too little Red Face)...pies, sausages....and the list is endless. Yet when it's lunch during this week for half term...kids can find nothing to eat! Roll Eyes

Think of the money you could save, by buying in bulk and just shoving it in the freezer Eeker

Thats what we do, because we are students we obv don't use the family packs of meat in one go so buy them when they are on offer and freeze them in separate portion sizes. And stick our bread in the freezer and just take a slice out when its needed.

I have a small freezer compartment above my fridge, but it's not very big.

I keep all the containers I get from takeaways for freezing stuff. My kids have a habit of eating half of this and half of that so I freeze the rest. I have a whole drawer full of bolognese, chilli, curry etc
