I'm a bit fussy when it comes to animals and food. I would have been cheekking that the kitchen is clean and he washes his hands after touching the dog.
I hated that episode where the snake pooed on the table - I would have left the programme.

well as you know I do have a dog but I can't abide begging or dogs at the table when you're eating and I'll have you know my surfaces and stuff are scrupulously clean - I use my steam mop gadget to clean the floors and it detaches so you can steam the surfaces and it cleans the oven too
