one of my mammy's friends was desperate for a boy and cried and rejected, initially, her daughter. Years later she got the boy but tragedy struck because the girl (who was a friend of mine) was killed on the way home from school - the mam was driven mad by guilt as she felt it was her desire for a boy that caused it
