I don't like panna cotta.

I've been at the library since 9am (go me) for essay which is due next week   I didn't eat but everyone else sat around me were eating, chatting on mobiles, charging various ipads/phones, singing - the one thing they weren't doing was being quiet and studying - when did libraries stop being places of knowledge and where you could study?

I know exactly what you mean, it's one of the reasons I don't tend to go any more. They even have babies and toddlers storytimes in ours, so you can guess how noisy that is.

yes - ours has school trips - now I've nothing against the kiddies being there as it's great for them to get hold of books but couldn't they also be taught to be quiet.  It also has a flipping tannoy system that goes off every 15 minutes grrrr

I have heard that Uni libraries have gone this way ....I couldnt  get anything done with all that going on...but council libraries still manage to keep things quiet... so you could try them.....just read back and it seems its not a uni library...different to down this way. Best one is the Miners Library....hop on a plane

this is the council one - the brand spanking new Library of Birmingham   give me back that carbuncle known as Central library - it was nice and quiet then - this new one has facilities that are second to none but it's quieter on the road outside

someone just asked me on twitter if this was the Last of the summer wine episode of CDWM cos of how they're dressed
