What is Nick and Jayne's relationship?

I quite like Dotty and his mate, and the other two guys.

Jane has brought it all on herself and can't take it. 

I think they are friends.

I feel a bit sorry for Nick. They all seemed to get on with him, but couldn't stand Jayne.
