Did I tell you the story of my friend from Manchester - we were standing in the queue at uni for dinner and she asked Rita the server what was in the pasta 

 

Rita said "it's ham bab" 

 

friend stood there with a gold fish movement then turned to me and said what's hambab?  is it local to Brum - it took me 25 minutes to stop laughing and then explain it was ham pasta and bab was a term of endearment here
