Colons are good for lists


I'm particularly partial to semi-colons myself - I hope that if I use them a lot it will make me look clever


Although no-one has said as much

I was trying to get this thread off to a clean start

oops but you got to admit , a whole lot more useful than the other sort

I like colons and semi-colons. But then again, I am a fully paid-up member of the grammar police.

Any chance you can educate me.

 I never know when to use colons and semi colons.
Although I seem to remember that you don't use a capital letter after a semi colon - I think!
