I'm so sad to hear about Cologne, a forum stalwart. She was someone I admired a great deal. Always bold in discussion, and never begging for our agreement ... I loved that!  I know her health suffered with the progressing years but I think she would have been great company and quite a gal in her day! A strong woman and an FM I valued. The forum is all the poorer for her passing.

Very sad to read.  Cologne and I were on the same page, politically, so it's very sad to read when a like minded person leaves this world.  Sad also as, politics aside, Cologne always came across as a lovely person full of empathy, humour and human decency.  The world is a worse place and more so this forum.

Even though I'm not religious in the conventional sense, I sometimes speculate if death is actually final.  I hope against my more rational instincts that it isn't and Cologne is in the best place. RIP Cologne!

She couldn`t get through telling a story without giggling. She had an adorable childlike quality about her. I`ll remember her with great affection.

Rest in peace, Karin

She was very fond of you Scotty. I've just summoned up the strength to read through our pages of dialogue.  My hopeless attempts to purchase from various sources a particular German delicacy became a running gag. At one point I had people searching in Hamburg, Bremen, Oldenburg and Hannover for the damned product. We suspected eventually that it was no longer in vogue. As usual I'm off to Oktoberfest so I think I will put a padlock on the Hohenzollern Bridge when I change trains. I should have time to do so.

Only just found out.. Blimey

Cologne was one of a kind, a really lovely person who was never anything but sweet to me. Her fire in BB arguments was always amusing and admirable too. I adored her, and she always said hi to me if I popped in a tread she was in

I was asking about her on DS actually about 2 months ago.

RIP love x

I'm not sure if it's leaked here yet, but the equally lovely Don't Call Me Shirley, passed away also the other morning.. So sad!
