Is it one word or two?
No, seriously, I need some. Currently have all wooden, but not bought any in over 10 years.
Where's the best outlet for them?
Oh and need about 20 of them.

I think you can spell it with one or two words.
EC I buy all my clothes online and they often come with the plastic coathangers Got too many of the dang things!
I wonder would certain shops give them away free or cheap if you asked?

Ah very good, and I don't have to go into the shop either
Is that a link gone wrong Velvet?
Cheers Velvet, I never considered ebay. Those look like exactly the ones I already have. Seems like I have my answer.

I have been given them with suits, but most of the time they don't seem to want to give them away, especially the nicer wooden ones - cheap skate shops...

Oops sorry Velvet the link works for others. I just got a new lappy with Win 8 and having some bother

ReallY? Aww thats horrible EC Stingy gits! Online Asda George put hangers in even for leggings and knickers! Big stores must have stacks they don't want!
Try Tesco? I notice they're superhelpful a.t.m. cos they need to win back the public after the horseburgers.

You are right. When they take out the hanger, they usually throw them in a big box behind the counter (full of other hangers!!).
But I think I will use Velvet's link and get 20 of those on ebay as they are the same as my current hangers. That should keep me going for a while especially after I clear out some older clothes for the charity shop.

Exactly! Gosh you must've felt mortified when they refused
Can you tell us what shops... we'll know who to avoid

It's OK NoseyR I am a bit cheeky and can take a bit of rejection. The last time was in everyone's favourite Debenhams, but I've had it in Next as well. Can't recall what happened last time I was in John Lewis or House of Fraser.
But I only tend to ask if I know I need them, so I don't ask every time I buy something.

Not surprised to hear Next. They have gone downhill i.m.o.
Last jumper of theirs I got [online]... when it arrived it was the nastiest cheapest looking material. Haven't bought from them since.
Every time someone says coathanger I want to say katanga, a la Lenny Henry
Pound stretcher do velvet coated hangers...ÂĢ1.00 for 6.....
Your local charity shop will probably have an abundance of them...I know ours do! (not on the shop floor though...you may have to ask)
