I'm not much one for clothes and shoes things meself, but I made a dress for my daughter this week and I have really got the bug for making clothes at the mo. I think I might actually make some clothes for myself as I am a strange shape and nothing ever fits me properly off the peg Glance

Anyone else here ever had a crack at making your own stuff? It isn't as hard as you would think really, there is loads of info in the patterns.

Me too, but I think I lack the creativity... I'm always a bit jellus of people who can do it Nod I've never even altered/customised anything. If it doesn't fit I just don't buy it Laugh

Laugh I brought this dress off an internet site, got my usual size and if anything was expecting it to be too small, but it was big. I could have sent it back but I figured it only cost ÂĢ14 (got it in a sale) and there was no point. So I'm gonna release my inner creativity this summer and mess around with it.

This is what I made It isn't perfect, but it was fun to do Smiler

It is Q, to be fair she would look good in a sack Big Grin
I'm rubbish with sewing, but it really wasn't too bad to do, as long as you don't look too hard at it Laugh

I bought some dead good black trousers from next last week, fit lovely nice and flary like I like but some fecker had decided to put DIAMANTES all over the pockets, stud things, bizarre cos otherwide they are quite a casual black-jean type material. So Mr R used his little pliers to get the offending items off & I just sewed some little black shell buttons over the holes. Dead pleased I never returned them now! Smiler

Nod I've had a go...I'm an odd shape, so I thought I'd see if I couldn't make some clothes that would fit me properly.
So far, I've only tried skirts, one of which - made out of old silk ties (don't ask where I got those from...Ninja) - always attracts a few comments.
I do have a pattern at the moment for a steampunk/airship pirate outfit...I'm just waiting to muster the courage to start cutting Big Grin

Hey ladies, remember I couldn't decide what to wear to my neices first communion? Well after weeks of searching online and going into town to try stuff on I decided on this:

Top

It seems to go well with white trousers but I would feel a lot bigger wearing white in my bottom half so I thought maybe navy linen trousers? Yes/No? I'm not too sure myself Roll Eyes
