Its a batwing style thing, but still quite fitted - I tried one in in New Look and it was just huge Its lovely and soft too

I'm not much one for clothes and shoes things meself, but I made a dress for my daughter this week and I have really got the bug for making clothes at the mo. I think I might actually make some clothes for myself as I am a strange shape and nothing ever fits me properly off the peg
Anyone else here ever had a crack at making your own stuff? It isn't as hard as you would think really, there is loads of info in the patterns.

Never made my own stuff but always wanted to give it a go
Got a dress I need to customise though, it needs taking in, making shorter and made a bit more exciting

Me too, but I think I lack the creativity... I'm always a bit jellus of people who can do it I've never even altered/customised anything. If it doesn't fit I just don't buy it
I haven't got the skill to make my own clothes. I'd love to as well as I love being a bit different
Oh and the top's lovely Saz , looks v comfy

I brought this dress off an internet site, got my usual size and if anything was expecting it to be too small, but it was big. I could have sent it back but I figured it only cost ÂĢ14 (got it in a sale) and there was no point. So I'm gonna release my inner creativity this summer and mess around with it.

Honestly ladies, it really isn't as hard as you think it is to make it from scratch. I am really lucky that I have a great haberdashery shop in town and the ladies in their were endlessly patient with me answering all my questions.
This is what I made It isn't perfect, but it was fun to do

It is Q, to be fair she would look good in a sack
I'm rubbish with sewing, but it really wasn't too bad to do, as long as you don't look too hard at it
I bought some dead good black trousers from next last week, fit lovely nice and flary like I like but some fecker had decided to put DIAMANTES all over the pockets, stud things, bizarre cos otherwide they are quite a casual black-jean type material. So Mr R used his little pliers to get the offending items off & I just sewed some little black shell buttons over the holes. Dead pleased I never returned them now!
Dead cute dress btw Ennis
I love this I just wish I had somewhere fabulous to wear it
Sounds lovely Raggy
And what a clever OH you have
Better than mine anyway who just causes destruction wherever he goes

I've had a go...I'm an odd shape, so I thought I'd see if I couldn't make some clothes that would fit me properly.
So far, I've only tried skirts, one of which - made out of old silk ties (don't ask where I got those from...) - always attracts a few comments.
I do have a pattern at the moment for a steampunk/airship pirate outfit...I'm just waiting to muster the courage to start cutting
Ooooh how cute are these
ahhhh those shoes are lush
They are gawj eh?
I would probably look like mutton dressed as lamb in them though

Nonsense! My mum is 50 and would still wear those shoes, as long as you team it with the right clothes you will look fine- specially if you are only 22

Haha my mum had to wait 19 years I was a tomboy growing up, then an emo (supposedly she doesnt like the whole skinny jeans, studded belts and black nail varnish look on herself) , now I'm a mix of everything

Hey ladies, remember I couldn't decide what to wear to my neices first communion? Well after weeks of searching online and going into town to try stuff on I decided on this:
Top
It seems to go well with white trousers but I would feel a lot bigger wearing white in my bottom half so I thought maybe navy linen trousers? Yes/No? I'm not too sure myself

Oh and Ella (sorry I didn't see you before) I think it would be PARTICULARLY gawjuss with white breeks but if you feel uncomfy navy linen would look lovely too! What shoes though?
