It's funny ..... I never see it that way Confused

I think it comes down to what you expect from a forum.

I come here ..... I read ..... I post ..... I sometimes comment on what others have said ..... but that's about it. I don't expect anything more.

I stopped posting on GBBF for a while because i found it not so much cliquey..but just very difficult to get into and feel comfortable on.Part of that was the speed the forum moved at...you'd start a topic and come back ten minutes later and it was gone!
People will gravitate to the people they know and the groups that interest them....same as rl.Sad fact of life, but as the new kid on the block a new place might seem daunting, but you need to put a wee bit of effort in getting to know people.I've made new friends here who I'd rarely spoken to before because its easier to make the effort on a smaller forum.
As in rl,find a topic that interests you and contribute.People will respond Smiler

I remember that thread from GBBF... Big Grin
I think it was myself and MsPublic that were always made very welcome even though we were backing another HM Ninja

Also what some people don't realise, is when we post rubbish in the wee small hours, there are very few of us on here, it just happens to be we can't sleep, it does not make us clicky. Then when you see the posts are still up during the day, you tend to think OMG did I really post that. Laugh

I think the problem can be that you make a post and people don't bother to respond to it, as someone who was on the old C4 boards for a while a couple of years back, I did find them overwhelming and tended to stay in the LUT and footy threads as people in there were friendly.

I have found a little of that one here, that you make a post and nobody bothers to respond to it and you can think you are being shut out.... best way round it is to find a thread where people are welcoming i.e. the footy thread, where all sorts of things get talked about, not just football and chat to people there, the footy FM's are funny and kind.

What riles me more than anything is the hiya so and so and the constant use of smilies, especially if it is an interesting thread, but its a small thing and now I am getting back into the swing of message boarding, I enjoy my time on here so much. Just find a thread and start posting as I say and believe me this forum is lovely compared to sometimes on the old C4 days or DS. I am a member there, but never comment on their BB threads, just tend to stay in the soaps ones as the BB threads can get really arguementaive. I like it here, especially the way the mods interact with us.

*Dave if you're about, can I be the pinkest forum member please??!!*

Hi PinkBabe you have to PM Dave for a title, he mentioned he doesn't see all the threads so he might not see your request.

Heartache
I think you get out of this place what you put into it.

I do grab people in threads and say hi to them... that doesn't mean I'm in a clique with them...

If you treat other fm's as you like to be treated, maintain a sense of humour, and learn to bite your tongue, sit on your hands, or run away when someones getting on your bits... then its fine!
