There is a campaign ( this time completely legit) to get Cliff Richard's song "Oh Little Town" to Xmas with all proceeds going to the Alzheimers Society.
I am no fan of Cliff Richard but I do think this terrible condition needs more money and to be honest it is far better that this cause gets it rather than Simon Cowell.

The song costs 99p - come on lets get the C back into Christmas and stop this X factor plastic nonsense.

And sorry Matt fans but I would have done this no matter who won - it worked with rage against the machine last year, it would be great to see it work this year, Maybe then Cowell will take the hint.

I saw Shaun Ryder on Breakfast this morning and he was saying he would like to do "Fariytale of New York" with Stacy Solomon. That would be a brilliant song/duet to topple the X-Factor song!

That's the problem this year...too many people jumping on the bandwagon. I know of at least four "campaigns". It's only going to work if people get behind the same one.

Having said that... I like Matt's version

I would love to see Shaun and Tracey get to No one with Fairy Tale of New York - it would be a sort of poetic justice for her.
But if Cliff getting to no 1 stops the Cowell bandwagon and helps a good cause as well then I am all for it.

Last year's campaign was brilliant and new, with a great result, but this year there are too many different campaigns concering such diverse acts as John Cage, Frank Zappa, and now obviously Cliff..
