Wright dies aged 66
One half of the TV cookery duo, Two Fat Ladies, Miss Dickson Wright died in Edinburgh on Saturday, her agent confirmed this morning.

aww I have just seen this while glancing on-line at the news. Very sad indeed and she was 27 years drink free

Yes it is sad. Although she seems to have had a lot friends, she struck me as a lonely sort. Now, I have read a few years ago, that her dad, who was the Queens doctor, was a horrible man who was very violent towards her and her mother, and he was an alcoholic as well.
Now I have just read that she became an alcoholic after her parents died because she loved and missed them so much. So, who knows.
She seemed a very nice and genuine lady, and I am sure she will be missed.
She was a fascinating and inspirational character. Very sad she has died at only 66 RIP Clarissa xx

I think she grieved for her mother more, Sezit?. Her father though outwardly respectable was a violent nasty brute to both of them. Think also the love of Clarissa's life died and that made her hit the bottle too.
She triumphed over adversity however!
