Anyone watch this on the telebox last night?

http://primetime.unrealitytv.c...-food-on-sky-living/

Claire calls herself a 'professional dieter?'  Well that's a new one on me. Guess my mother is a professional housewife and mum!  How the bloody hell can you be a 'professional' dieter FFS?!

Is this Claire's 'career' and public personal now is it?  Her yoyo dieting?  What an achievement!

Personally I am sick to death of seeing these 'zelebrities' parping on about their weight and making tv programmes about it, and videos and writing books and making a fortune.  There is nothing special or clever about losing and regaining weight!  WHY do we keep being force fed this crap telly?!  Claire has lost the weight and gained it and lost it and gained it and so on and so on, and it's just bloody bloody bloody BORING now!  These zelebs make money from this CONSTANTLY.

Even Claire's husband says he is sick of the diet waffling and ranting from Claire.  I give it 2 years before he leaves her.  Most of us have had some kind of worries about our weight, but some just take it too far, and rant on and go on as if it's just them that has suffered with some kind of eating disorder.  Give it a rest!  All that came across from Claire was 'poor me poor me poor me....'

Get summat DECENT on telly FFS!

Rant over.  Just needed that because these yoyo weight zelebs piss me off!

I think we all are a bit obsessed with food LOL, but we dont make shit and pointless crap telly proggies about it!  Won't be watching this garbage again.  I feel MASSIVELY sorry for her husband, having someone THAT whiney and obsessed would drive most men away.  Most women are worried about their weight, but Claire Richards is just BORING!

I didn't see the programme and I have only one thing to say *braces self*   addiction to food and let's face it, over eating is an addiction to food, is probably in my book one of the hardest addictions to conquer.

Why??  Well if you're a drug/alcohol addict, you eliminate them totally from your life as well as your system.  You can't eliminate food.  Yes you can eliminate the the 'bad stuff' but food is an essential and is ever present in our lives.

I've been interested to read today about a survey *although it's probably biased as weight watchers sponsored it* but according to it a lot of yo yo dieting is about attitude to food.  Councillors can help with that and maybe it needs to be on the menu *see what I did there*  of programmes to help obese/over weight people instead of gastric bands????   Trouble is, programmes that offer counselling like Lighter Life and Jenny Craig are astronomically expensive.  (Most of the food gorged by over weight people is actually quite cheaply bought for a pound an item at Farm Foods and the like).

But getting back to Cupcake's topic   I agree with Rexi that if watching someone in the public eye helps them talk about it, then it can't be a bad thing     I just wish they'd stop bringing out these DVDs that make people believe that without substantial support of a personal trainer/chef, they too can have a body like Natalie Cassidy, Claire Nasir, Hannah Waterman (all of whom's dvds are still in their covers on my shelf)   they invariably put the weight back on because they've not 'treated' their attitude towards food and what is at the root of their over eating etc..

Gawd didn't mean to go on so much
