Pray what does it stand for Supes?
I'm watching, have shed quite a few tears at the stories of the children. Have enjoyed some of the entertainment but have given a miss to most of the music
Pray what does it stand for Supes?
Children in need
No, I'm not watching

Ah, that. No not watching.
I see too many boy bands as it is (inadvertently of course).
And they won't have Susanna Reid dancing this year.
Just watching comedy on other channels.
Have Family Guy and American Dad programmed up for 11:00pm onwards. That's my evening sorted.
I've just switched it on.. James Arthur. Maybe it'll get better.
On the other hand... i've just watched last Sunday's Homeland. Now we're cooking...!
i am some of the storys are heart breaking some brave kids out there
Pray what does it stand for Supes?
Sorry EC, it's a work acronym

That little family that lost two boys with the skin condition .....broke my heart. How incredibly sad.
TBH I'm only half watching ......got my Jack here - he is making a bloody mess christmas cards ...............what with my rubbly hole in the wall and glitter, sequins and glue absolutely everywhere we really do have our own little winter wonderland.
And .......I count myself as so fortunate and blessed that I have healthy, happy children and grand cbildren. Sometimes we really do take our good fortune for granted.

Sorry?
So was I
But seriously - i don't doubt the charity does sterling work.
But one year they rolled out a brass band of well fed and dressed kids, some bigger the Wogan . . . and I thought, "This is not children in any need".
In need of a trumpet? Cos that's what was provided.

Unfortunately, that was 1989, those 'services' are now largely only funded by the GBP putting their hands in their pockets tonight

I saw Chris Evans tweeting 'how good were Torville and Dean' hours ago, so I guess yes. I'm sure it'll be repeated though. I recorded the first segment so I can fast forward through the crap and watch the good bits tomorrow.

It's not that, It's the way they play on your heart strings I do give to charity but don't need to be prompted as to who to give it to
Genuine question: how do you choose, without it pulling on your heart strings?

Sorry, I don't understand, (didn't see what you were referring to)....chubby well dressed kids who can play a trumpet can't be vulnerable and needy
These "celebs" should give some of their own money instead

You after a fight...again? I know that we don't always see eye to eye St Renton, but, (genuinely,) when I give, it is because it's something that touches my heart...hey ho

I see this a lot, Aims.. but surely we don't know that they don't?. Just because they're part of this show, encouraging others to give money, doesn't necessarily mean that they're not supporting charities too.

Children in Need Charity gave them new trumpets.
That to me is not "in need" is all i'm saying.
Case in point...........The sterling work the GNAA does (and yes I'm sure there's the equivalent around the country) They don't get half the recognition some other charities do.............and the GNAA doesn't get any government funding!! We need to keep this thing in the air peeps!

I had to Google GNAA... to say I was confused by the top result was an understatement.

I accept that I can get drawn in to individual stories of sadness and sheer desperation. How does 'steel youself' work, genuinely, I'm interested

What I mean, is sometimes there are more 'deserving' than the rest
That's not to say that cases on CIN aren't but there are other charities out there too

That's what I always think. I'm sure they do donate .......surely if nothing else they'd be embarrassed not to.

They can't win.. if they don't donate publicly, they're greedy so and sos and if they do.. they're looking for praise.
