Okay, hands up, I've been a 'Kirsty's home made Christmas' type of person, from long, long before we'd ever heard of her.  I love beautifully wrapped presents BUT, time is short, so I bought 'regular wrapping paper' for my 'ordinary presents' (admin support girls, colleagues etc.) What a bloody nightmare!

So, I can say without doubt: John Lewis wrap looks pretty but is SHIT quality, (might just have well have bought it from the local market, it's so bloody thin,)  Clinton cards is better quality, you can 'fold it' reasonably nicely, however MnS all the way

I hate 'crumples,' MnS wrap is thick enough to be crumple free and substantial enough to not 'guess what's inside,' (it's got to be a surprise on Christmas morning for me.)

Ha Ha, how shallow am I, whilst I was wrapping was listening to that 'class' programme and then stuff about the Leveson enquiry, (of which I could say much,) but bloody wrapping paper GRRRR

I find it OUTRAGEOUS how much money, time and paper is used over this momentary celebration! Why do you even give gifts like this? What about the unemployed who can barely get enough money to eat, let alone provide a Christmas meal for their families!

[just trying out being controversial for size Soops. Take no notice!]

Oh I like 'themed' wrap Gyps... I am the least 'matchy' person you could imagine, but, I do accommodate my 'matchy' family/friend's needs, so I wrap presents and send cards that fit with their colour schemes!

Well I expect you'll spend a ludicrous amount of time on this meaningless activity. And waste the earths resources doing so!

Tis not meaningless.....everything would come unstuck without it.....

As if!

I will say, however, gifts like what?  I was talking about wrapping, not the cost of the present there within.

So, for e.g. brown paper, a leaf of ivy from the garden for a tag etc. will always be preferable to me,but it does take more time and effort, which is sometimes in short supply.

As for your point about the unemployed etc. I couldn't agree with you more, but, some of the most 'special' presents I have given and received over the years have cost next to nothing....glances sideways and looks at the pic' of my parents roller skating on their first 'date' for example

I start off wrapping my pressies with nice quality paper from different shops,I put bows and ribbons on them, but by the end of my wrapping sessions they always end up looking like they are a parcel of fish and chips. I get fed up easily.

Sorry Sezit i just found it quite funny and thought i'd share

I use brown paper and then decorate with pretty ribbon and mini-baubles/cinnamon sticks etc....have done for years....looks beautiful and costs very little as we get huge rolls of paper from MrB's work and I have a huge stash of ribbon...plus rellies always return the ribbon ready (if they are opening pressies with us)  for next year!!!!!! Plus the paper is quite thick so we don't have the corner poking through problem!! AAAND..you can use it all year round...just use different ribbons and add flowers or other things for birthdays/anniversaries etc.
