I am underwhelmed by the fare on offer tonight.
Decided to do chores instead.

Listening to music instead as you can probably see from my posts.
trying to figure if Charlie Brooker might be worth watching
it's worth it just for Godfrey Bloom alone

Celebrity Mastermind, Celebrity Pointless, Atlantis, Pemberley. Good fun. Does it always have to be majorly cerebral?
I have to admit to a diversion into German TV.
For some reason us Germans find this hilarious and have watched it religiously for the last 30 odd years every Christmas.

I did catch Mastermind and a bit of Pointless. Kinda lost touch with Atlantis as it feels a bit like Merlin in Greece.
But no, not always cerebral. A good couple of films is what I expect around Xmas. Something I've not seen or maybe some classics that have passed me by.
As much as I am heartbroken by the 'Haley and Roy' Corrie story line. I want to know, am I just the only one that found the Doctor who delivered the 'weeks instead of months' news to Haley, the most shit/wooden actor ever, that woman ruined that scene as far as I am concerned.
Not seen much! i will probs go watch alan Carr right now as hes funnnaeeee

I have heard of that. Must have been featured on a programme somewhere. My best mates wife is German I will have to ask her about it.
Speed with Guy Martin won it.
It's dire again today. We are currently watching a recording of 'The Diary of Anne Frank'!
Mum's asleep, I'm not paying attention and hubby's in the bath. We're rivetted!
I watched Downton Abbey on Sky+ and that's about it
Oh, and a biog on PBS about boxer Jack Johnson which was good.
I'm now blubbing watching Goodbye Mr Chips - it gets me every time.
I've recorded Hootenanny to watch tomorrow along with random stuff that I've recorded (but have forgotten what they are )

'Goodbye Mr. Chips' now - Martin Clunes' version.
That's what I'm watching, Fluffy. Not quite as good as the original with Robert Donat, but a blubfest nonetheless
Agreed........on both accounts!

It's not exactly getting my New Year bon homie off to a flying start!
Big blubby bit coming up!
Thanks, Moonie..! Fluffs and I are in much need
Aww moonie....thanks very much!
Just discovered that the Colin Firth version of Pride and Prejudice has been showing since 2pm - all six parts - 4th part started at 5 - on the DRAMA channel. Freeview 20.

I think I prefer the newer version, Martin Clunes brings life to the character (i know what i mean!)

I know what you mean, Machel, and I guess I'm just an old stuck-in-my-ways when it comes to films. I saw the Donat version first (it was ancient even then! ) and it's always struck a chord with me. There's no doubting that MC played the part really well though.
Actually, it's nice to see a remake that's up to scratch with the original
It's not got any better !

I'm sure BBC will repeat the first and second series at some point.
Alibi have been showing them - do you have that channel?

I usually have to watch each episode twice before I really get it.

So glad I didn't bother. Everyone keeps telling me how good it is but I really haven't got much of an attention span when it comes to following a TV plot. I simply love Dr Who but the technicalities and nuances go right over my head TBH.

It's because of the jumping back and forth from the 'NOW' to the 'Then' and the pictorial depiction of his mental calculations - can be a bit awkward at times.
