Although, some say the 6th is Twelfth Night, but that is son's birthday so we always take it down on the 5th.

Yes the 6th is tweflth night, but as I know it and the way it has been taught to me it has to be down before twelth night

5th is twelfth night.

25th = 1st night

26th = 2nd "

27th = 3rd "

28th = 4th "

29th = 5th "

30th = 6th "

31st = 7th "

1st = 8th "

2nd = 9th "

3rd = 10th "

4th = 11th "

5th = 12th night.

The way I understood it was that the tree should be UP for 12 nights. Therefore it was always the 6th that it was taken down.

I'll be taking my tree down (reluctantly) on Sunday the 5th, it's as close to the right time as possible, and with enough time to do it

Oh! you don't want my tree then?

Nope, considering its fake

What's wrong with having a fake tree in the garden? We have fake astro turf on our front and a golf hole and flag ............Mr Woo practices his putting every morning before setting off to work. I do think we are viewed as rather eccentric by the more 'traditional' villagers though ............we have fake guinea pigs on the putting green too soon to be joined by the fake hedgehog that I got in my stocking this year.

We are just soooooooooo fake.

Our life is a bit like a 70's Pink Floyd video TBH. We pretty much do our own thing with regards to home decor ......we like what we like and bugger what's modern/acceptable/traditional. WE don't really conform with regards to 'household' stuff.
