Oh Dirk that''s sooo bad. i hope you've made up for it.
All our family have decided no special cards this year, we're all clubbing in to give it to Children in Need. Last year I spent ÂĢ80 odd pounds in one card shop on family/friends/ and Uncle Tom Cobley and all, it's silly and I'd rather give it to a good cause and so would my family.

I stopped sending cards to my family years ago and we all donate to charity instead. But my husband doesn't think it's right so he always sends cards to his family.

i have to admitt i hate xmas cards. I put about 5 or 6 important ones up where i have the space and they still good the rest get stuck in the drawer then in the bin as soon as xmas day is over. I cant stand clutter.

We're all in agreement Longcat, we'd all much rather it went to a good cause than spend fiver's on special cards, it may be not everyone's choice like your husband, but luckily we all agreed
The only ones i get named cards for are my husband and the kids.
The rest can just get their charity shop specials and be grateful for it.

I can't be doing with name cards except for the rellies in Oz who usually get an 'Across the miles' card.
My problem is getting religious Xmas cards as I have a few old rellies who are still religious and don't appreciate fluffy bunnies or sad santas

they are more the three wise men or Jesus in the stable type of people. Can get away with an angel though I love Robins - I have one that comes to my bird table daily - perhaps I could get him to pose
Thye have nannie/nana nan gran granny in every variation , but i can never find a nanna one when i want one.
I buy one really good and quite expensive box of xmas cards .... Clintons usually have them ..... About 8 to 10 hand crafted cards for about ÂĢ6 - ÂĢ7 ... & I send those to close family members, rather than buying all those "named" ones.

I am going to use all last years up. I found loads so I am hoping I do not have to buy any at all.
I will buy special ones for my man and my girls but that is all.

That's me too I put the family ones up and one from a good friend I used to work with. I haven't got space for them all and can't be arsed putting them all up either Sorry Evelyn i was busy arguing with the gas man, i've been freezing too death for the last 4 hrs , i haven't got any nanas to swap anymore but my mum is the card inspector and she likes the proper spelling and the right meanings inside

I think my mam had the right idea. She would've given you the money for a drink rather than a card.
I went Christmas shopping yesterday, and came home with absolutely nothing. Don't know why but I cannot find any Christmas enthusiasm this year. I might just cancel it

Yep and the one time i tried to put them all up every time someoen walked by the sideboard or opened the door they all fell over wont be doing that again
I make all my own cards, that way I can write what I like on them....
All the daft names going around now it's a good idea to buy blocks of transfers. Available in all colours with all the letters and numbers that you just rub on to the card. Quite cheap and you get a few sheets in a pack. It's good fun too
