but we're going on a mini cruise to Holland next month with the plan to do some Christmas shopping there, but I reckon that Mr Cinds and I will end up just getting stoned and going to some sex shows.
Nice one!
You lot have decided me - I'm definitely going to get it all sorted by the end of the month. I hate the Christmas rush, it's my most hated time of the year. Cardiff is mayhem once all the shoppers come out.

The best xmas we ever had was the one a few years ago when hubby had had a big commission come through in September and I was able to do all our shopping early.

Since then... we have always been skint.  Before xmas I have my son's birthday and my wedding anniversary coming up in November.   Though I shouldn't really worry about the wedding anniversary... we have never been able to afford to do anything anyway!  (though I am dropping dirty great hints for him to book premier seats to go see the New Moon film that is out the day after...we'll see)

Its gonna be another year where I scrape together what I can out of two months child benefit & Novembers wages.... and then shop shop shop around for the best prices.  (I actually use an excel spreadsheet to do track & price compare my xmas shopping!!!!)

Do what we did last year....we brought the kids one decent present each then bought loads of other stuff...some good (Cd's, DVD's Books) and loads of tat from the pound shop...wrapped it all up in a sack and did a lucky dip...it was a great laugh...specially when my oldest got a pound shop barbie and the youngest got a thing full of plastic cutlery which he then proceeded to turn into cutlery people with the help of some felt pens and cellotape.

lol!   Year before last I got them the Wii & games as joint pressie.   Last year daughter wanted a camcorder... and as luck would have it brother in law, who has more money than sense, and has to have the most up to date gadgets,  gave us one (result)!

The worst case scenario is if daughter wants clothes... THAT ends up expensive.   I am hoping she says she wants a laptop... cos then I can go on the hunt for a decent refurb.

I look for stuff that looks like it cost lots... but didn't!

Also... I use xmas to buy them basics that I should probably buy the rest of the year.... pj's, slippers, undies, socks etc.

I like the idea of the lucky dip thing... but I have a feeling it would just turn into a dirty great row and sulk session.

I am deffo gonna sell the one main pressie thing to them both though.  Although haven't a clue what the boy will want.

Also.... another thing I do is trade in loads of old games at gamestation... and use it to get any new ones requested.    They haven't noticed the ones I got rid of last year yet... and I am eyeing up unused ones to trade in this year already!
