For me..
- Listening to Jim Reeves' Christmas Album... it transports me straight back to childhood
- The smell of Matchmakers' chocolate...
- The brand new paper smell of a Christmas Annual... usually The Beano or Blue Peter in our house!

Love the smell of Christmas annuals, Beano, Bunty, Judy for me and when my two girls were young I had a good sniff before I wrapped theirs and I made sure I had one of theirs to read in bed on Christmas night...
I don't know how to embed those video things ... but here is a youtube link to his songs... Silver Bells and Dear Senior Santa are great .
Someones just given this thread "stretch marks"

Awww so cute Syd especially that you enjoyed the excitement a little bit too. They were something to look forward to all year...
No X-box can hold the excitement of the new Beano/ Dandy / Jackie / Bunty etc... that was the high spot for the year

The Christmas Carol concert at the church or the 6pm crib service on Christmas Eve
jim reeves was a favourite relatives singer and at their funeral "distant drums" and "welcome to my world" were played - can't help but remember them when i hear those songs
When I give in and watch "Miracle on 34th St" or "Scrooged" ..... I always hold out as long as possible in order to get the maximum hit.
I shed a tear for Kris Kringle whilst wrapping this afternoon - I'm now Christmasified

When the final 'big shop' is done (today in our house) and the fridge is full of scrummy cheeses ... I'm tempted to go and crack open the stilton as I am typing this

Sainsburys had a great offer on Stilton ..............bought some yesterday - haven't opened it yet! It's massive - I think only me and Mr Woo like it. I will do a broccoli and stilton quiche though!
Green mouldy cheese , I have tried to like it as a kid to be "grown up", I have tried to like it as an adult, cos other people do and I am feeling like I should.............but NO.....it tastes mouldy!

Welcome to My World - the Jim Reeves version is lovely
ohhh tricky, its hard to pinpoint what makes me feel christmassy. If i try to feel it, it eludes me. Then sometimes at the most odd times it sneaks up and gets you. This year stressful shopping round marks and sparks gave me a little glow (they had carol singers). A stop off at the German market for mulled wine when its pouring down outside. Delivering a ton of turkey to friends, not christmassy as it was all drop off and dash.... but there was lots of kisses and smiles and it was nice.
I love midnight mass on Christmas eve, if nothing else has got me before then, that does.... that and a shit load of baileys
