I'm glad he's going..   he should have gone a few years ago..   he used to be quite funny, but recent years not so much.. 

 

I am just hoping he takes the ironically named Comedy Dave with him

I never liked the way his "crew" were rather sycophantic around him

Chris's breakfast show have been my mornings for years...my sons and I always listened to it on the school runs too. I for one will miss it.

I thought Scott Mills was a dead cert as his replacement.

I can't imagine Grimmy having the same appeal for me, but we'll see...

His audience average age is 32 and the big wigs think thats too old and want R1#s image to be younger... thats why they bumped Scott Mills from 4-7 to 1-4!! Grr

 

Chris Moyles is waayyyy to far up his own backside though, cant say im sorry to see him go

I thought the same thing until i heard the chief explaining the future plans for R1 

 

I dont think i'll gel with Grimmy either, so wanted it to be Mills.... have i mentioned i like Scott btw

I stopped listening to R1 in the late 90s so I have nothing to add except I don't find Chris Moyles funny (used to sometimes watch that show he had on Ch5) 

I like Scott Mills in his new slot - means I can listen to him at work 

 

And...   I love Grimmy...    happy for him to take over the breakfast slot 

It was bound to happen.

I'm sad that Moylesy is going, I listen to him every morning and still love his show and his team, 'comedy' Dave is annoying most of the time though.

 

I had hoped Scott Mills would take over but it didn't seem likely, as he's the same age as Chris.

 

Will give Grimmy a chance but I think I might be changing radio stations.

However, I'm still picturing the OP dancer with a gold tie and I know it's RAWKY.

This is part of the reason why I love this show, countless times I've been on the bus trying not to look like a mentalist laughing at stuff like this:

 

When did Noel Edmonds leave? That's about the last time I listened to breakfast radio!

Its going to be strange without him but he's been on the breakfast show a long time and it's run it's natural course now. I too wanted Scott mills to replace him, but I like grimmy so I'll give him a chance. I didn't even know Scott had been bumped to the 1pm slot I like the chatter on radio 1 but can't stand the music, so have been tuning in to smooth fm at work

That's how I felt when Terry Wogan retired from the Radio 2 breakfast show.   I love Chris Evans on the show, but I still wish Terry was there along with Janet & John. 

I loved Chris Evans at first but he annoys me when they do the head to headlines game! I love the candy man on Fridays though I bet terry enjoys his lay in's now

Now if Radio 1 could only confirm it's departure.

They eeked out the the good bye shows didnt they? 2 weeks of them! lol

I listened to the first ever morning of Radio 1 which, let's face it, was set up to try to tempt back young listeners from the excellent pirate stations.

Apart from various niche programmes (John Peel, Annie Nightingale, and co) it has been utter, utter, rubbish.

Ironically R2 often play music which R1 should have been playing way back when.

Ultimately MOYLES beleived his own celebrity

He played only 3-4 songs per HOUR !!!

His sychophantic team were tiresome and unfunny.

I won't miss any of them

 

 

I'll be honest, never liked the guy and I did not tune into his programme for that reason, so I am pleased in one way, but we might see more of him on TV, which is bad.

 

No loss, he's shit and whenever I've listened he's always had his showbiz mates like Davina on the show.  That said, I don't really listen to Radio 1 any more.  I suppose "Moylesy" can talk laddish shite (sorry 'banter') between One Direction and Saturdays records, regardless of how old he is. 

The way to go is Talksport   I don't listen to any of the music radio channels any more as it's the same old, same old they play and it gets REALLY boring! 

I might try 6Music. I hate adverts, so the commercial stations are not an option for me.

 

All of you people who dislike Moyles will be pleased to know he's probably going to New York to do radio.

 

I will miss him.

 

Loved this from Friday(every Friday for the past few years was known as 'McFly Day on R1, and Moyles would play 'Stargirl' by the band on this day.)
