No, BeerBelle I would never want to usurp you as commentator. That is why I have posted in black. I'm definitely one of the audience who just chips in with odd (emphasis on odd) comments. It is difficult staying quiet the whole time, particularly when you are a parrot.

I put this thread out for anyone to play chess & if they couldn't someone would help.
I had a look at the board last night, but it didn't say anything to me. It was just a collection of red and white bits of plastic stuck in various random holes in a black and white chequered board. I'll have another look tonight.! 
Putting on my unofficial referee hat on for a moment, can I suggest that if one player is stuck and needs a suggestion that they ask for help, but that the other player must give their consent. We shouldn't have other members posting suggestions without this (not that anyone has) without this request & consent, else there would be anarchy.

My suggestion was made aa a result of Heatseek's last comment as I thought that somesone else might decide to start making suggestions for chess moves.
